So, I guess the first question is, is Kontact production ready (or was I just unlucky the first time)? Or is there a better PIM?
In 12.3 you would be well advised to add this repository
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/411/openSUSE_12.3/
Thanks Juhn,
How do I do this? When I tried, using either software repositories from YaST or from the add repository in Online Updates, I get an error message, "Unable to create repository from URL http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/411/openSUSE_12.3/, and a prompt to change the url and try again, or abort.
Thanks again
Ted
Graphical Yast instructions: Go into Yast, select Software repositories, Click add Click specify URL Key in a friendly Repository name of your choice (KDE updates for OS12.3) Paste in the repository name, exactly as i posted it. Click next and carry on. Go back to yast, select software Management Wait while it updates repositories... Click the repositories tab Scroll down, to notice all the modules that are shown in blue (meaning updates available) Right click in the list, select All in This List... Select update if newer version available. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks. I guess it doesn't like not being given a name in addition to the URL, and I assume that that was the cause of the errors I encountered previously.. That all worked OK this time. But, it believes that KDE is at 4.10.5, and would not update beyond that. And still, Kontact is refusing to start. IF you saw a lot of packages with version numbers listed in blue, AND you followed the directions to update if a newer version was available AND it showed it was updating all those packages, AND you still show 4.10.5 THEN you must reboot. If you it either did not show long lists of blue version numbers OR it did not appear to update them, THEN you must click OPTIONS, Allow Vendor changes and repeat the update. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
