[opensuse] Where is Bluetooth configured?
I have a Dell XPS L701X. Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS settings but opensuse says there is no bluetooth device. I cannot find a bluetooth setting in Yast. What are my chances of getting bluetooth working? 4.12.14-lp151.28.36-default #1 SMP Fri Dec 6 13:50:27 UTC 2019 (8f4a495) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Opensuse 15.1 KDE plasma. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Are you sure you have BT hardware in the first place? https://www.dell.com/community/Laptops-General-Read-Only/Dell-XPS-17-L701X-B...

On KDE the first place to look is in the services: right click the triangle on the right side of the systray applet, enter its settings, check Extra Items - Bluetooth. That should give you an extra ( bluetooth ) icon in the systray and autoload the bluetooth service.

I don't' know for your computer, but of course ask first the hot line to know if you have really bluetooth. I also have a dell (vostro 3360) that do not not have a bluetooth installed. If I understand well (not sure), most of the time bluetooth and wifi are on the same hardware, if ever. So may be changing the wifi card may solve our problem that said, I know by experiment that on computers bluetooth is not as capable as on phones. For example I can't make a bluetooth keyboar/mouse combo works (to save an usb slot) jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
