[opensuse] YouTube comments not loading in latest Firefox ESR update
Since updating to the 68.6.0-lp151.2.36.1-x86_64 release of Firefox in Leap 15.1 yesterday, YouTube comments no longer load. The spinny thing on the page just keeps on spinning. I already had the 68.6.0 version installed. The only change noted for this latest update is: - Added patch: firefox-fips.patch (bsc#1167231) * FIPS: MozillaFirefox: allow /proc/sys/crypto/fips_enabled I see this issue has occurred in previous years on various browsers for various reasons. I do have uBlock Origin installed so I tried disabling that, no difference. I can test in Konqueror, where the comments load as normal. Anybody else seeing this on Leap or is it just some weirdness with my installation? gumb -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It's been that way for me for months. I'm currently on 68.6.0esr (64-bit) and Leap 15.1 KDE. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Same version running here -- no problem with comments loading. Did you forget to restart the Fox after updating? ;) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Did you forget to restart the Fox after updating? ;) Saw this some months ago ( testing for a Discord user ). This did the trick: Close Firefox rm -rf ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox Start Firefox -- Gertjan Lettink a.k.a. Knurpht openSUSE Forums Team

That seems to work. Curious thing though. While this is a 15.1 KDE system, I got the menu from 15.0. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'd try to export and re-import your existing profile data to a new profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-pr... Of course having backups is always a good idea. Cheers, vinz. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It might be a Containers thing. I have a 'Google' container for all things G-related including YouTube. I just tried re-opening a YT page in a private FF window and the comments load okay. Perhaps the Container has somehow become corrupted. gumb -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
