In my dual boot system, DrDos and SuSe 8.0 I have a PCMCIA card reader installed. I use it as an easy way of connecting my desktop with my Dos HPLX200 (palmtop) and to download photo's from my digital camera with a PCMCIA/Smartmedia adapter. The only thing is that I can not get the reader working under Linux. During my first steps in Linux land with a RedHat 5 version I had some activity on the cardreader and could even mount cards. After coming over to Suse I am not that lucky. I must confess that it is not one of my priorities but after getting my system more or less working and having set up manually my ZIP drive (automatically during install with 7.2 and 7.3, no show under 8.0) I would now get the basics right with this ISA card. The card is found during bootup but not recognized as a PCMCIA device. Could somebody show me what to do to include this device in my setup? I have read more than I wanted about PCMCIA card etc. but in most cases it begins with a functioning device. No much info how to get the reader working. -- " Every little BYTE helps " NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.
