hi, I have installed a new version of apache on my SuSE 7.2 server. But the /etc/rc.d/rcx.d/S21apache doesn't work anymore... so I was about to create another symlink so everything run again smoothly.... bu I can't find any hint regarding chkconfig, nor man pages... is it normal ?.... how can I create automatically the Syyapache so it can refer to my new apache installation and pid file ?... stephane

chkconfig is a redhat program that you won't find on our distribution. SuSE Linux uses insserv to create the necessary runlevel links (see 'man insserv'). For this to work, the init script needs to have some information in the header. Just have a look at any of the scripts in /etc/init.d/. Philipp -- The enemies of the user?
