[SLE] 10.1 Apache2 install success but include.conf missing
Hi, I have tried to install apache2 a number of times, including trying to update, search google and so on. My include.conf file is still missing, yet yast proclaims all operations a success: httpd2: Syntax error on line 185 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/include.conf: No such file or directory Can anyone shed more light on this? Is someone willing to send me their fresh include.conf file so I can at least try to get apache2 working, even if not solving the real problem? Best wishes Peter. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

How are you installing apache2. I believe the file is generated by SuSEconfig which *requires* an rpm based install. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

# # This file is created at apache start time by /usr/sbin/rcapache2. Do not edit it! # # as listed in APACHE_INCLUDE_* (/etc/sysconfig/apache2) # I'm not sure if the version under 10.1 would be different. If you want it I'll be glad to send it. APACHE_INCLUDE_* ? Try: touch /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/include.conf That's assuming that only the non-existence of the file is what's holding you up. You might not need any particular content in that file, at least to get started. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W. Yup, had that too. Just enable apache2 with YaST: Network Services -> HTTP Server I suppose the manual way would be something like: SuSEconfig --module apache insserv apache2 rcapache2 start Cheers, Leen -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Here? Is your's empty? ;) BTW, IIAC, the contents of include.conf depend on the settings in /etc/sysconfig/apache2.conf.
