view images in Konqueror
I know I'm overlooking something simple, bur since upgrading to SuSE7.2 my jpeg images don't show in konqueror, but rather, just display as a red, green, and blue drop of ink over a piece of paper. What do I need to check to get the actual images to display? dave -- David C. dave kde control centre -> kde components -> file manager -> previews & meta data make sure that in 'local protocols' 'file' has been checked

Thanks Jonothan - A typo on my part, it should have said 7.3, vice 7.2. In 7.3 there is the option File Browsing | File Manager but it lacks any preview options, and there is Look & Feel | Desktop | Show Previews for: with several options including one for images BUT that only allows for display on the actual desktop, not in Konqueror. I know it can be done but I'm still stumped. dave Jonothan wrote:

Also, within Konq, go into Settings->Configure Konqueror->Previews & Metadata and up the Maximum file size. Click Apply and OK. -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@CONSOLIDATEDLINT.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE
Hi Jay - I'm using ver 7.3. As far as I can tell, there is NO previews & meta data section. If you could point me to it a little more directly I'd appreciate it. When I select Konq | settings | configure konquerer | I have the following options from a panel on the left: file manager; file associations; konquerer browser; enhanced browsing; cookies; proxies & cache; stylesheets; crypto; user agent; and netscape plugins. And that's all, so I'm confused as to where one looks for this previews & metadata section. Further advice eagerly sought and accepted. ;-) dave Jay Vollmer wrote:

Dave run kpersonalizer and this has a section to change the eye-candy including previews Jonothan
Morning Jonothan - Thanks for the suggestion but I'd been there and done that prior with no success. BUT, I did it again and this time moved the Eye-Candy-O-Meter to the far right just for grins. And then the images magically appeared. I then ran it a third time only to find the slider had returned to it's original mid-point but the images still remain. Hmmmm. Again, thanks, dave Jonothan wrote:
