RE: [SuSE Linux] Internal modems
My internals modems work fine. I have 2x USR Courier 56k's in the machine. and both work perfect. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: [SuSE Linux] Internal modems Author: "Yatsen Ng" [SMTP:yatsen-ng@cistron.nl] at BCEEXCH Date: 3/1/99 1:46 PM O.k., I found out that my modem won't work under Linux. Same goes for my soundcard. I was warned about this in the book "Mastering LINUX". The writer, Arman Danesh, says '...you are best off without a Plug-and-Play modem, and should really consider spending the small amount of extra money required to get an external modem'. Too bad I took notice of Linux after I got my new rig. My question is; is there an internal modem that will work under Linux or will I have to get an external one? If I do need to get an external modem, is an E-Tech a good choice? Any suggestions? Thanks. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
