[opensuse] sistemad - is /usr/local/lib/sistemad/system the right place for local service units?
Just wondering if /usr/local/lib/systemd/system is the right place? The path isn't created by default at installation time, but that could just be a plain omission. I've created it on a 12.3 system, put a service unit there, works fine. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.4°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Right place for what? Yes, systemd historically also looks there but it is discouraged. This location is not even officially documented. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

For local service units - see $SUBJ :-)

I came across it when I was googling: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd.html "Other directories checked are /usr/local/lib/systemd/system ..." So if not there, where would local service units best be put? Straight into /etc/systemd/system ? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

What's wrong with "pkg-config systemd --variable=systemdsystemunitdir" as suggested by the same link in the same paragraph? :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On 13.2, it says "/usr/lib/systemd/system", on 12.3 is says nothing. I guess "/usr/lib/systemd/system" is okay - I was just thinking a local place would be better, we tend not to take backups of system locations. Hmm, maybe /etc/systemd/system is better. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (11.7°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
