I have been trying for a week to get SuSE 8.1 to print to netgear ps101 print server on NFS TCP/IP network. Works find with desktop in 8.0. Get the following error in the cups_error log file, but do not know what it means. ppd=/etc/cups/ppd/laserjet.ppd Insecure dependency in eval while running setuid at /usr/lib/cups/filter/cupsomatic line 133. PID 11221 stopped with status 2! I have re-installed CUPS twice, no change. Would appreciate any help on this. Even using localhost:631 it does not print. I can go to http://192.168.1.31 which is the print server and it prints test page fine from there. Will not print test page from either localhost:631 or Yast printer configuration. It says it does, but nothing happens on the printer. Art

Hi Art, Firstly have you had a look at line 133 of cupsomatic? You can open it with a text editor. It should give you a clue as to what it's trying to do. Unfortunately I don't have SuSE 8.1 handy to look at the file. Also it might be an idea to increase the debug level in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf as it could give you more info on what it is trying to do. It might be a good idea to look over this file. Firstly remove/rename all the log files in /var/log/cups/ and then restart cupsd and then look at each log file in turn. If nothing shows up in the way of a problem, try printing a file and then examine all the log files again. Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
