[opensuse] lvm is dumping core - a lot
Hi guys, I'm finding a lot of this in my logs: Sep 14 21:08:43 akari kernel: lvm[21398]: segfault at 5a ip 00007f1477d7346f sp 00007ffe4a3032b8 error 4 in libc-2.26.so[7f1477cd1000+1b1000] Sep 14 21:08:44 akari systemd-coredump[21400]: Process 21398 (lvm) of user 0 dumped core. And I mean a LOT. as in, once every two seconds for a period of two minutes, seems to happen during recreation of the boot ramdisk after installing packages with modues that go into it. Any ideas? openSUSE Leap 15.0, all updates applied, system is using LVM on four harddisks... Sorry, no. Just another data point. I'm running lvm on Leap 15.0 and have the latest versions of lvm and libc too. The only segfaults on my system are firefox! :( But I don't install new kernel modules very often at all. One other likely difference is that my kernel is not completely up-to-date. Since the error is unmapped memory, maybe there's been some change in that area of the kernel? Can you run lvm under gdb to get more information?
