I've just switched to SUSE 9.1 and am investigating the new KDE. However, there are a few things that seem not to be intuitive and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do them. 1) If I create a new button on the toolbar for an app from the main menu (e.g. JPilot) then I appear not to be able to change its icon because of insufficient permissions. In Gnome, I can change icons to whatever I want - is this not possible in KDE? 2) It appears not to be possible to create popup menus of arbitrary commands/apps as it is in Gnome (with the drawer button type). The nearest I've managed to come is creating a directory of scripts and placing this on the toolbar as a quickbrowser, but this isn't a very elegant solution. Have I missed something? Ive noticed that if I add a copy of an application to the desktop I can change the icon with properties, but if I choose the option link here it will not let me change the icon. Another thought: Why are so many icons missing for applications in the KDE menu? I know abiworh used to have one, but it did not show up after the yast install.

My SuSE 9.1 can't find the linksys pcmcia wireless card. ¿What's the module I need?
Francisco, Wifi-sellers have the unbelievable bad habit of selling the same card with different chipsets. Watch out for version numbers! My DWL 650 is supported for version A and B (different chipsets!) but not for C. See page http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=357&question=General%20Wireless If your card is not supported then you have to use solutions as http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/. There is also Linuxant that is a commercial variant (with additional costs) of this. With both i have no personal experience but. You can always try to trade in the not supported variant with a supported variant ofcourse. Peter Vollebregt Francisco Javier Lopez Vazquez wrote:
