All;
Hi all. I'm a long term Linux user, and am just taking a look at SuSE. I've
been running Mandrake, and RedHat for a long time. It's time for a change.
;) So I'm here to infect your list for a while.
I have a question. I'm sitting inside a tough firewall at work, and want to
download SuSE to give it a try. But I can't get out of the firewall with
anything but a web browser. ;(
I can get to the site, and download files easily enough, but "one at a
time". (ouch!) Not to practical for downloading an entire Linux distro. Most
of the other distros have iso images for this reason. (makes life a lot
simpler).
Does anyone have iso images of SuSE 8.0, or know where I can get them?
OR
Does anyone know a way to defeat a very tough firewall?
What it does is:
You do the automatic proxy configuration in your favorite browser,
specifying the proxy in the form:

Your ftp client is probably trying to transfer in active mode which most firewalls won't allow. Use passive mode. -- -ckm
