Re: [opensuse] 11.0 KDE 4 {first impressions}

Seems that the only option on 4.1 is a fresh install. Could also be that 4.1 will be available well before suse 11.1 comes out. I also understand that 4.1 final will follow rather quickly after 4.1. Put it all together and 4.0 doesn't seem to be a sensible option unless suse are going to fully support it and knowing KDE well it may turn out that the bug fixes and apps just dry up as all of the developers concentrate on 4.1 I have gained the impression that suse is the only major distribution going this way. Maybe the others are idiots. That's somewhat doubtful. John ___________________ John, I do see your point, and it's well taken. I personally am just happy that openSUSE has provided us with the absolute best 3.5.9 available, and I will gladly wait patiently until 11.1 for the best 4.(whatever) that is available, and I'm sure that's what we'll get. The Build service is also available for those who want to upgrade to 4.1 sooner, and I'm sure there will be a 1-click install available at the time it's ready. Personally, I'm running KDE 3.5.9 as my main desktop in 11.0, and I've installed a VM with 4.1 from the UNSTABLE build service repo to play w/ and keep up with the development. It's working out quite nicely for me, and I'm satisfied.
