Using Suse 10 and when visiting www.live365.com to listen to music, the xine-kaffiene player launches and errors out saying 'no plug-in to handle this resource'. Personally, I'd rather use xmms. How can I tell Firefox to make xmms the default music player? PS. I do use Xine to play my DVDs, and I'd hate to goof that up.
In Firefox: 'Edit'->'Preferences'->'Downloads'->'View & Edit Actions' Scroll to 'PLS'=>PLS file' and set the action to '/usr/bin/xmms' If you've got all the latest related Packman multimedia packages, this *should* work. For some reason, I can't get xmms to handle .pls streams but it's handling .m3u just fine. I'm still running 10.0 if that matters. ~~~ Thank you Carl. I noticed that the '.pls' extension isn't listed. How do I add extensions in Firefox? You're very welcome, James, and a big "Happy New Year!" to you, also. I did a quick search through defaults.rfd and prefs.js to no avail. There's a setting (sorry, I've forgotten which one) in prefs.js/about:config to enable the download action menus, but I'm 'missing' an "Add Action" button. :-/ You can check for an answer in the KnowledgeBase, though. I've had very good luck there hunting these kinds of things down: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Firefox regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
