Hi all, I just gave my wife an old Toshiba Satellite 220CS and she's asked me two questions that I can't find. Does anyone know: #1 How to turn the power off in DOS? Right now I have to fire up WP98 to shut the power off. #2 Just for fun I installed Monkey Linux on it. Monkey defaults to a US keyboard BUT it does not match the keys on this Laptop. Does this mean that a laptop keyboard is different from a US keyboard or perhaps I have an English board? If so, how do I tell if it's an English or US board? One last question, does anyone know if there is a webb site where I can d/l a manual for this laptop? TIA!!! #1 How to turn the power off in DOS? Right now I have to fire up WP98 to shut the power off. Toshiba's web site has an utility - for dos, that can do that (not by a command, but simply by closing the screen down ant is suspends itself). If you need a REAL power-off, than you should set that option off (it can be done during a DOS session - no reboot necessary). In DOS I beleave it is actually so - I had an unpleasant experience with some REALLY old peacock laptop (286) which had the whole keyboard "thingy" writen for itself, couse there were not enough keys on there for a latin2 (cp852 keys). One last question, does anyone know if there is a webb site where I can d/l a manual for this laptop? Toshiba's web site www.toshiba.com and search for support and so on. I have found everything I need For a Satellite 100CS there. (except for toshiba utilities, which I found on freshemat.net). +----and here the quote ends----+ Good Luck!
