Does somebody use xDSL connection in Beaverton or Tigard OR?
Hello SuSE folks! I got a vital question about xDSL connection because I'm going to move in Beaverton or Tigart OR. I need to be sure that my new residency will be in the certain range to switching station for xDSL connection. GTE and USWEST refused to give me an information about these switching station locations. Probably it's a security issue. Could somebody please from Beaverton or Tigart OR send me response if there possibility to get xDSL line in their residency locations. Thank you in advance Alex

It doesn't matter where the offices are necessarily they still have to: A) Have xDSL available in that area. B) Test the line at the residence/business office you are moving into to check for available speeds. Try calling some CLECs (Competitive Local Exchange Carriers). They will probably be more willing to tell you if xDSL is available at a certain area/address. Covad, www.covad.com or Northpoint www.northpoint.net. I SERIOUSLY advise that you do *NOT* purchase your xDSL service through GTE. I had it here in Southern California. It was the worst experience dealing with any company in my entire life. Try Flashcom. www.flashcom.com They have a database of addresses in my area and can tell you if/what is available. I think they sell service in your area. Best of luck, Mario
