Hi, Has anybody succeeded in installing SuSE on a MacPro? I can boot from the install CD, install the system until the creation of the boot record. Grub says something like unknown volume or can not mount volume. And Lilo has a problem with the size of the Xen kernel. Once I even succeeded in installing the whole thing with Lilo. But it didn't boot at all. It didn't even find the boot record. Even if I boot from the installation CD and chose "Boot from hard- drive", it doesn't find any boot-able partition. Probably I should install the whole thing with 'elilo'. But how can I configure elilo, if I can't access the hard-drive? Any pointers would be happily welcomed! Thanks Phil

Did you start by installing the latest vers of Apple BootCamp? It sets up the MacPro to look like it has conventional BIOS not the unique and propriatary new BIOS that the MacIntel systems have. PeterB

I tried. I still couldn't install Grub. But Lilo worked (without Xen). It didn't start up from the HD though. But that's perhaps a problem in the EFI. So I did again a "Boot from hard-drive" from the installer CD and it started to boot. Until shpchp: Standard Hot Plug PCI Controller Driver version: 0.4 hw_random: RNG not detected Where it stopped forever. Could that be a problem because of PCI-Express? Re Phil
