I was told gmane can be a good news front end for opensuse lists. why not :-) but on the gmane site, I'm unable to find the opensuse list. I found the site very confusing. going to "subscribe" I found a sheet asking for adding a _new_ list. I'm prety sure opensuse lmist is already there. so could it be possible to have a link in the "communicatee page, right on the good gmane place? and this can be even if a opensuse news server is made, is ever somebody preferes gmane thanks jdd - http://www.dodin.net Quelques images: http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html

It's not I'm afraid. I submitted a request a couple of months ago, but it was rejected for some reason. I think the Novell/SuSE mailserver refused something as being spam. http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse/2005-Sep/0227.html /Per Jessen, Zürich

Guys.. *sigh*.. As i already said 2 times now it wont work to post from gmane to any of the suse lists with the current setup of lists.suse.com. We are working on a replacement system and we will set this new system up so it is possible to read/post at gmane. Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, Core Services "Rules change. Because it's a good solution that just needs fixing.
it's a not so good solution if it works. If it don't better fix our own stuff than that of others jdd -- http://www.dodin.net Quelques images: http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html

jdd, gmane works really well for 8106 mailing lists - who do you think has got a problem? (jdd, what's your name by the way? - I don't like talking to acronyms). /Per Jessen, Zürich

well, it don't for suse :-( and the fact it does for 8106 mailing list IS the main reason I don't like to go there :-) anyway is we can allow gmane to connect to suse, it's very good. any medium is good :-) but having his own forum for a Linux distro seems to me necessary (the necessary beeing the "own", not the forum)
(jdd, what's your name by the way? - I don't like talking to acronyms).
my name is Jean-Daniel Dodin and my head is here :-) http://www.dodin.net/famille/jdd/qui-fr.shtml and my CV :-) http://www.dodin.net/famille/jdd/do005711/t1.html for what it is good, all this in the web site there in my signature :-) jdd -- http://www.dodin.net Quelques images: http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html

Do you ever use USENET? USENET contains more than 70000 newsgroups. gmane is mostly just a USENET-like way of accessing a mailing-list (e.g. using knode)

Thank you - much appreciated. When I get to know people I don't mind using 'jdd' or other acronyms, but I still like to know what they're actual names are. My own silly face can be seen here: http://www.dansklisten.org/albummet/default helebilledet_perjessen.20031205115248.jpg /Per Jessen, Zürich
