I had php pages working on my local Apache2 server, but after a recent Apache upgrade, Apache runs and I see the Apache page at http://localhost, but my phpinfo.php page at http://localhost/phpinfo.php no longer renders. Pointing to that page shows nothing (never leaves the page it's on). Could someone provide recommendations as to what to check? Thanks.

I had a similar problem and someone on the newsgroup kindly advised me to put my pages in the /home/user/public_html folder. Then point the browser to http://localhost/~user where user is the user's name. This is also written at page 361 of the administration guide. Since doing that all works well for me. Nev

Yes, but the pages should work as well if they're placed in /srv/www/htdocs. That is what I'm not understanding.

I should also mention that the PHP page is not working in ~/public_html either. :-(

Is the apache server on (YaST/System/Runlevel Editor)?
Yes...running away like a champ. -- Cheers, Trey --- No lake so still but that it has its wave; No circle so perfect but that it has a blur. I would make a simple php page. Maybe just a echo "Hello<BR>" in it. I assume you did load the php modules during install. I also noticed in the / srv/www/htdocs dir there are no php files. I thought by default apache2 would not run scripts unless told it was OK. You may need to add an option in the config file for the root directory. Hope I gave any clues. I will say that I had no trouble moving from apache1 to apache2 except that in apache2 the Alias lines must go in order of specificity. However, all my stuff goes into its own directory replacing the htdocs. Greg Engel

Tried this as well. No PHP pages are recognized. Regardless of content.

The root directory is showing as /srv/www/htdocs.

Thanks. The PHP pages were being served correctly before. But since a recent Apache point upgrade via apt-get they no longer do so. -- Cheers, Trey --- "Men do not differ much about what things they will call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable." -- GK Chesterton 13:56:40 up 6 days, 20:36, 1 user, load average: 0.26, 0.38, 0.36 Linux salamander 2.6.6 #1 SMP Mon May 10 00:12:20 PDT 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux

So what does apache do instead? And what does it log? Peter

Hi, AFAIK, Apache2 + PHP is/was a bad combination... maybe they have solved it and both integrate perfectly now... but I thought I should warn you about that "incompatibility" (from months ago...) Martin

Hi. /localhost/phpinfo.php doesn't work for me either but other php scripts work fine. Try a short php script in your /public_html folder to check. I have 9.1, YOU'd this afternoon. Steve.
