[opensuse] SUSE Account Changes - here now?
Well, I've just received a message telling me I can activate my new SUSE account. Unfortunately the plain text version of the message doesn't actually include the necessary links AFAICT. I'm disappointed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

And I see that the privacy policy explains that my personal data will be exported to California, there to be processed by the NSA, CIA etc at their leisure I suppose. Is there really no European firm (or even firm with a European server) capable of providing authentication services? NO NO NO you really should not, you should raise your concerns about that one with SUSE, that is the account system for SUSE customers and partners as Marcus explained and I linked 15 minutes ago SUSE will be using a different system for R&D which will be shared with openSUSE for things like bugzilla obs etc. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

All curent account holders have received this invite to sign up to this (lets called it SUSE customer tree). Background: Up to now all customers and community members and even employees have shared one account tree to access suse.com customer center, bugzilla, the buildservice and other locations. This account space is now being split into 2 spaces: - One part for SUSE customers themselves. This is driven by OKTA and via "New SUSE User Accounts - partners and customers" as original signup email. It will use your current existing details. ( https://myaccount.suse.com ) - Second part for the Development and Community services we offer (Bugzilla, OBS, etc.) This account database is hosted in Nuernberg datacenter. (see https://idp-portal-info.suse.com/ ) This database is still being transitioned from MF to us and not yet fully active. We only just started and it will first be visible to you with Bugzilla after May 11th. Up to then the "old" account is still in use. For people just being developers and community members, the secondary part is the more relevant and perhaps the only account they need. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

So, I should just ignore the email? I see it wants a 12 character password. I suppose one thing that could make me a "customer" was I used to buy boxed sets. Yeah, I was wondering whether the 9.3 box was what made me a customer. But the account is definitely the one I use for bugzilla. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It might be that Migration hasn't yet been properly enabled for openSUSE users yet, expect it to be by the time bugzilla is up and running, the initial email had to be sent today as bugzilla will be down from tomorrow until Sunday for the migration. Although I can confirm the system seems to work because employee's were given a separate link to migrate there accounts because wisely this is being tested with some internal tools before its rolled out everywhere. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
