Issues with changing to new DVD-R/W drive
I have a 9.3 install with a DVD drive and CD-RW drive. I bought a DVD-RW drive today and installed it in place of my CD-RW drive. I also switched the DVD-ROM drive with one from another machine. Now when I boot SUSE I get numerous errors such as: hdc: packet command error: status=0xd0 {Busy} ide: failed opcode was: unknown hdc: DMA disabled hdc: drive not ready for command hdc: ATAPI reset complete ide-cd: cmd 0x25 timed out hdc: lost interrupt The physical connections to the drives appear OK. Their getting power and cables seem to be seated. What needs to be done to get SUSE booting fully again and the drives working? Thanks. -- Cheers, Trey ---- Real computer scientists don't write code. They occasionally tinker with `programming systems', but those are so high level that they hardly count (and rarely count accurately; precision is for applications.) Thanks.
Replying to myself...the old "master/slave toggle" got me. Once that was changed, back to normal.
