Any suggestions on configuring wireless?
I'm trying to set up a wireless LAN. Works under MS Win98, but no go (yet) under SuSE 9 on the same dual-boot box. Card & AP sync & behave under Win98 so it's not hardware. Specs: Access Point = SMC 2755W (802.11a at 5Ghz) - set up as DHCP client (wired side) and DHCP server (wireless side) Net card = D-Link DWL AB520 (802.11a/b at 5 & 2.4GHz) Host machine = homebrew tower - Dual boot SuSE 9.0 and Windows 98 SE - ASUS A7M266 w/ AMD 1.4GHz+ - 512M RAM & 10GB disk for Linux Under SuSE, I needed to install the pcmcia module to get SuSE to see the card. iwconfig will cycle through the frequencies and channels that are supposedly available for the card. Beyond that, however, "iwlist wlan0 ap" (or scan) doesn't see the AP and it physically hasn't moved since sync'ing under '98. Ideas / suggestions appreciated. (I've used the wireless-HOWTO & the iwconfig/iwpriv/iwlist commands & man pages to get this far.) Thanks in Advance (esp. since I'll probably be slow in ack/response) /Hans
