I have tried deleting all the directories thru System Settings that KDE creates in $HOME as I do not need them nor what them. Eachtime I restart X, KDE or my machine, they are all recreated. This is on oS 11.2 with KDE 4.3.4. On my oS 11 install, I do not have this problem.
My question is how can I once and for all delete these directories permanently? They are: Documents, Download, Music, Pictures & Videos. Hi,
My system is german so I don't know if my names are somehow correct... but go to "system settings" or "personal settings" (where you can set the KDE stuff), then under "personal" you see "personal information". Click on this and then choose the "path" icon. All the pathes you see there will always be created if they don't exist. So I guess, putting /home/youruser there will use the home directory for all those specific places. Or tipe in the directories you like... Thanks. That seems to do the job. I set them to a general directory that I use. I will then navigate to whatever directory I need to use for those purposes.
