[opensuse] Upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2 login problem
After upgrading my laptop from 12.1 to 12.2 I get the following error: Warning:Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session Then in a bug dialog window: Executable: kdeinit4 PID: xxxxx: Signal: Segmentation fault (11) and in another window: Could not start ksmswerver. Check your installation. Anyone else run into this problem? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No But I did a clean install One thing to check is: Under the sessions option at the login screen Make sure kde-plasmaworkspace is selected Otherwise I suggest switching to IceWM and do zypper ve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'll run the zypper ve as suggested but right not it does not matter which desktop I choose I get the same error which tells me there is a problem with ConsoleKit. And yes I have re-installed ConsoleKit. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I recall a similar problem, perhaps pre-rc1. Try: /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon --no-daemon then try to log in. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
