[opensuse] Now for a really simple question
I hate it when a really stupid problem stumps me. How do I get Firefox to open a kmail window when I click on a "mailto" link? It works ok with one of the users on this system but not another and I cannot make it work for that user. It keeps bringing up Evolution, so obviously what I have been trying is wrong. I think these instructions are as good as any: http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2005/02/msg00463.html I use a cover script to handle these links. I've attached it (but I recommend reading if if you plan to use it). If you do use it, then its name (for me, "firefox-mailto") is all you need to enter into the "network.protocol-handler.app.mailto" config entry, assuming you put it in a place accessible via your PATH variable. Other than a call to Perl to URL-decode the mailto: URL passed by Firefox, it stands alone.
Thanks in advance, Fred

I was not aware that the list would tolerate attachments. I am not against them, but it would, in some cases, simplify questions. --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers ... for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. That does work. (I have this on a list somewhere.) In the network.protocol-handler.app.mailto hive set the string value to kmail. Simple as that. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
