[opensuse] SUSE 9.0 samba and Vista?
Anyone who's got any ideas on why I can't connect a share to Vista from an old SUSE 9.0 machine running samba3-3.0.24-30 ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Surely you know the answer to that one :) Hint: It starts with a M. Im having the same problem with openSUSE 10.2 and Samba-Version 3.0.23d. No-one seem to see this as a problem? You are suppose to change something (NTLMv2) at the Vista side - good luck getting our IT guy to to that! Ok I take that back. I see that smbclient works, but smb_kio does not. Some files have 0 byte size in Konq. E-Mail disclaimer: http://www.sunspace.co.za/emaildisclaimer.htm -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I *am* the IT guy... Anyway, this works perfectly fine with a 10.1 macine running samba 3.0.22-13.30.. The Vista stations all connects perfectly fine to that server, but not the older SUSE running a *newer* Samba. That's the confusing part... Seems like I solved it.. The "OS level" was set to 2 in smb.conf, I changed it to 65 and that did it. Not that I really understand WHY that makes any difference in this case since it's a standalone server..
