[opensuse] life usb key leap
where do I find an iso that is capable to start a life system on usbkey I tried with the installation iso and immage writer but the system will not start (recovery starts but I do not have enough idea about the hardware of the system in order to be able to mound manually every f.. disk. And the "start linux system" does hang because of nouveau (gpu lockup). Is this the right way to run a life leap system? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don't think we create Live ISO images for Leap. I don't see any in at http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.2/iso/ -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I am already downloading a live immage of another distribution. Will do for the repair. TW does life immages? A bit weired that there is any but goes in the "Pro" direction I suppose. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If you only need to repair an exieting system, even the installation system will suffice.
TW does life immages?
Yes, it looks like TW has Live images: http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/
A bit weired that there is any but goes in the "Pro" direction I suppose.
It wasn't really a deliberate omission, I think it was the change to Leap. For TW we still have Live images and a 586 build. I guess we'll need someone to volunteer to amend the process and have Live images built for Leap. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (7.8°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It isn't that hard from cli, once booted from any install medium, one only has to know the /dev/sdX# entry for root.: mount /dev/sdX# /mnt mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys chroot /mnt yast Only one "but" .... the install medium needs to have to same architecture as the installed system. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Try this one first: http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Rescue-CD-x8... If not, there are lives for 13.1 and 13.2.
