[SuSE Linux] 5.3 initial impression
5.3 seems nice, congrats to everyone at S.u.S.E. I do have one strong criticism: YaST has become intolerably slow. It's not a bad administration tool, but it's not very usable when it takes 5 minutes for the YaST splash screen to go away. Also, I just went to make my boot and rescue discs after compiling a kernel, and YaST segfaulted during creation of the rescue disc. -- .###. /#######\## -==============================================- ;##### ;# Mike's WindowMaker ;##### ;# <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html</A</A>> \# /## -==============================================- ###'---'#### - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

I'm now getting X errors every time X is started. It runs fine, but all is not as it should be. Apparently, the new version doesn't like the Matrox Mill. II PCI with 2MB nor Mill. II AGP with 4MB. Did you load the basic system onto HD and then run the full HD YAST? as recommended in the manual....:) Michael Lankton wrote:
