Re: [SLE] VMware on AMD

the only thing im getting is "operating system not found". vmware runs POST and everything seems to be fine, but it's not finding my operating system.
After the vmware window opens, check at Settings>Configuration Editor>Guest OS to see if one is set up. If not, you have to install one--I use win98. Also, in Configuration Editor, make sure a floppy and CD-ROM(under IDE Drives) are installed and set to "Start Connected". This way you can enter the virtual CMOS and set boot order to either Floppy or CD-ROM to install your Guest OS. VMWare does not come with a Guest OS already installed. You have to install one of your choice. There used to be images of various Guest OS's on the vmware CD, but I just looked and cannot find any on their web site. I just checked the 7.1 CD > info on vmware. It is a time limited version with a key available from www.vmware.com/suse/. Tell me where you are in all this process, and I will try to help. Where can I get those raw images so that i need not to install the whole bunch?
