It is a problem with Java2 on SuSE 9.0. It is really slow and takes a huge amount of memory. Tried in Konqueror - takes about 6 minutes to open an simple java applet, memory usage by java_vm is about 230 MB (i have 256 MB ram and 512 swap). With mozilla, firebird, galeon - takes 7-10 minutes, sometimes forever... memory usage the same. With Opera - opens in 2-3 seconds, memory usage almost the same. Have tried with many different java installations, no difference. ain
There is a problem with the Java SUSE ships with 9, I had several performance problems with it. The easiest thing to do is go to Suns site, get their download and install it, make sure you remove the old Java version from your machine. Ain Vagula wrote:
