I sent several queries to SuSE Installation Support three days ago and have gotten no response other than the automatic acknowledgements. Is that typical? What response time have other folks here experienced? Paul Abrahams

There is no support left in the U.S. I guess the study they did stating 1 German could do the support work of 3 Amercians is now biting them in the ass..Cheers! They will answer, but you have to imagine all the slang that gets caught up in "Amercian" email. ;) Regards, -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

This suggests that Ben's remark concerning the 'study' which said that the German staff was three times more efficient than the American staff may be true for requests made in German but NOT true for requests made in English. Sounds like a serious communication problem. Michael and I got into a go-round and I think it was due to my misundersanding his use of English - his didn't mean what is statement implied... the idiom usage here isn't what they think it is there. Never gotten any response, over the last three years, on any question (somewhere around 6 or so). Oh Well, of course the cost of SuSE doesn't generate a lot of revenue for them to staff a full technical department. That is what this list and the HowTo's are for. jpg
