Why would you need a DVD version, if everything fits on a CD. To do an ftp install, you have to use the network install CD. Once you download and burn it, you can then install SuSE over the internet. Also, the ftp install is for installing over the internet, as opposed to downloading the CD images and installing SuSE from them. Any packages not on the CDs can later be installed from the servers.
