Why bother? You don't want to be root in kde long enough to be bothered by it anyway... MHO Jon Clausen

However, I gotta tell ya, when there is a migraine coming on... that BG can be very , um, nauseating .. ( yeah, I know, why are you messing w/ a computer if you have a migraine happening? Let's just say it's one more point on which the US generally, adn US Employers in particular are a bit behind the curve... AND if I didn't work w/ them coming on, or in fact , often in earlly stages , as the thing hits... I'd be out of a job... anyway , back to that BG ... Isn't there some sort of graphic equivilent that isn't so , um, "noisy"? j afterthought It's a jungle out there kiddies, have a very fruitful day..

Yes, but even as root, you can start the kde control center and choose a different background, it's in the look'n'feel section. BUT: What Christopher was wanting to say, don't make yourself too comfortably as root, since root can do anything including damaging the system. Get yourself a user account even if you are totally alone on that very box. Cheers ... Wolfi ============================================= mailto:wolfi_z@gmx.net
