Okay maybe I should of explained a little better. If you install SuSE with Yast and select minimal install, it still install a lot of rubbish (my opinion) that is not needed. How can I install SuSE from the ground up? Phil. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Choose minimal install then edit configuration and deselect things you belive are rubbish. to gain some valuable space do not install man pages and documents (the packages will install them under /usr/share/doc/packages directory which you can issue the rm -rf /usr/share/doc/ command safely (except you may need the pam.d directory if you are planning to use Marc's harden Suse script) HTH -- Togan Muftuoglu
For testing I have chosen minimal install and then deselected packages. I can get to 55 packages. (I even deleted YaST2) There are possibly still things you can deselect like xshared(x). YaST complains that it's necessary for ps, but I can't see why. Anyway I have atteched a selection with the minimal I could get without YaST complaining. (I have SuSE 7.0 Pro)
