This leads to a question. Where are sites to download SuSE rpms. I have used Yast for all upgrades and I dont see a firefox upgrade on Yast? Is there a rpm for firefox 1.0? john

I just checked that. It's the standard Mozilla not Firefox, I think. Mike

Mozilla was in there too in my update. I use the Chicago server; whether or not that makes a difference, I don't know. However, there was an update for BOTH Mozilla and MozillaFirefox. Jack

You could always try to keep up to date with the Advanced Package Tool (apt). See http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm linux:~ # apt -s install MozillaFirefox Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: MozillaFirefox 0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 removed and 0 not upgraded. Inst MozillaFirefox (1.0-0.1 SuSE:9.2/stable) A nice article about installing gnome2 with apt: http://www.tuxme.com/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1100136470&archive=&start_from=&ucat=40&go=news.php -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
I got the Firefox rpms from
ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/mozilla/firefox/1.0/
and it installed perfectly using
yast -i <the rpm>

Far too busy. I tried even though I only have dialup but it crashed in
the last meg. Tomarrow Ill get it via the university system and Ill get
the rpm and the windows version. I have been helping some poor schmuck
with his northGate XP system with 224MB memory. its a real dog. I told
him my PII 350 with 256 was faster with 9.1. He is not ready to switch.
So Ill send him a few toys and let his 5year old son teach him a few
things.
