LiLo and a Memory mix up
I know that my second memory (unbuffered DIMMs)stick, -one and two are both 64 MB-, is failing at 127,3MB. Wanting to buy 258MB I found that for the moment the supply of those sticks is interrupted and I have to live until there is new stock with my slightly imperfect memory. I have two questions. First: If I request KDE the use of my memory the information I am given is that my total physical memory is 126.45.as Linux found some more bad memory during booting? Or else where is the 1.55MB which is not accounted for? Second: If I want to exclude the bad part of the memory for use I heard that this could be done by inserting mem=127M in my Lilo.conf. I did and after running lilo I got following info: "unrecognised token mem at or above line 18 in /etc/lilo.conf" What went wrong.
