[opensuse] Linux-friendly "copier" / network scanner?
Can someone recommend a Linux-friendly "copier" such as Konica-Minolta Bizhub? I am partial to Lexmark printers, has anyone used something such as Lexmark X658de or X652de for scanning to Linux? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We use Brother MFC-9840CDW and are *very* happy with them; they even have LDAP & IPv6 support. Print quality is very good and all the necessary features can be selected in GNOME print dialogs when using the Brother supplied PPD file in cups. At first I was like: "What? A Brother? You have to be kidding." But the MFC-9840CDW has been a flawless work horse. -- OpenGroupware developer: awilliam@whitemice.org <http://whitemiceconsulting.blogspot.com/> OpenGroupare & Cyrus IMAPd documenation @ <http://docs.opengroupware.org/Members/whitemice/wmogag/file_view> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We recently installed a Ricoh Aficio MP 171SPF into a small office. It was up and running under openSUSE 11.0 faster than the other windows XP clients. All I had to do was install the MP161 PPD file. Haven;t tried network scanning, but the copier actually scans to pdf then emails it to your desktop anyway, which is possibly more convenient. For low-volume work, anything using HPLIP seems to work fine. I have one of the dozens of "HP All in one" models and am able to scan print and fax with the hplip package installed. I'm not sure how this would work in a high volume corporate environment. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Have a look at "By the way 1" at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2007-01/msg04214.html Additionally "Regarding HP" have a look at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2008-09/msg00090.html (the URLs therein are meanwhile outdated, HPLIP is now at http://hplipopensource.com) Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany AG Nuernberg, HRB 16746, GF: Markus Rex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
