If you look at your XF86config file where the font paths are defined you will see some at 100dpi and some at 75dpi. Move the 100dpi line above the 75dpi lines and it will default to 100. Restart X after change. -- Mark Hounschell markh@compro.net
Thanks, had tried that, it results in 100 dpi _fonts_ being chosen first but xdpyinfo still reports the native x resolution as being 75x75 dots per inch which (to my untutored eye) seems related to native x resolution per se and not x as in fonts - or am I way off base. Thanks Francesco

xdpyinfo show the same for me but my Mozilla fonts are defiantly changed by moving the 100 in front of the 75. Mainly just the toolbar icons and certain text in progress windows. So if you have a program using a particular font defined in XF86config and have those fonts in 75 and 100 format which ever comes first in XF86config will be used by default. I'm NO font expert. Is there a particular program/font you are wanting to use? You might try one of the xfree mailing list. There seems to be a lot of people there with font expertise. -- Mark Hounschell dmarkh@cfl.rr.com
