Evolution and 9.2 problems
I have been running SuSE 9.2 Professional for a long time but the version of Evolution that comes with 9.2 seems broken. I have followed the instructions but no spell checker and it frequently locks up polling my POP3 accounts. Is anyone else seeing these problems ? Dee

I'm running the ftp version of 9.2 with Gnome 2.6 and evolution runs fine, albeit rather slow. I use fetchmail, and it takes ages to download mail from the local directory - I have no idea if this is an evolution problem or something else. No lockups, though, with evolution anyway - pan locks up all the time! David

Hi Dee, I switched from Evolution to Mozilla's mail client after upgrading to SuSE 9.2. I wasn't happy with the redesigned interface and the performance wasn't up to par -- this is admittedly a subjective judgement, so YMMV. I never had a problem with it locking up, though, and spell-checking worked straight out of the box. I found and posted a workaround on the spell-checking issue a while ago. If you fix the locking up issue and spell-check still doesn't work, you can check it out here: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=suse-linux-e&m=110610491706425&w=2 HTH & regards, - - Carl - -- ____________________________________________________________________ C. Have you looked through the archives of the evolution mailinglist? http://lists.ximian.com/archives/public/evolution/ I was forced to pull back because I can't get plain-text fonts expanded to large-enough-to-read display on 1280x1024 CAD screens. Bumping font sizes up to 14 or 16 point was not an option because it destroys printing on letter pages.

Areyou running it in KDE or Gnome. When I upgraded, clean install, from 8.2 to 9.1 I had to run evolution natively as its slow in kde. Of course that may be because this is a PII 350 with 256mb memory. -- _______ _______ _______ __ / ____\ \ / / ____|_ _\ \ / / | | \ \ /\ / / (___ | | \ \ / / | | \ \/ \/ / \___ \ | | \ \/ / | |____ \ /\ / ____) |_| |_ \ / \_____| \/ \/ |_____/|_____| \/
