Hi, I've been having trouble posting the the suse-linux-e list since I changed my mail client to mutt, even though I have changed my 'from' to be the address I subscribed to suse-linux-e with, it bounces every email. Mutt uses sendmail on my local machine to send the email, so I guess the list is smart enough to know the email doesn't come from the server after the '@' in my address. Anyone know of what I need to change so that suse-linux-e accepts my email address? /---------------------------------------------------------------\ | Nick Webb ---------------------------------- ITS Lab Software | | http://www.uidaho.edu/~nickw ------------ University of Idaho | \---------------------------------------------------------------/

What I do is: edit /etc/mail/genericstable anovo alvaro@novo-online.net then run newaliases (or/and SuSEconfig). Next time you send a mail it understands it as the address specified in genericstable. Hope it helps, Alvaro Novo SuSE 7.1 Pro -=- Kernel 2.4.7-4GB -=- KDE 2.2.1 12:55pm up 1 day, 13:12, 4 users, load average: 0.04, 0.03, 0.00
This worked! Thanks! On Sat, Oct 13, 2001 at 12:57:35PM -0500, Álvaro A. Novo wrote:

I have a similar problem...see the return path (look in the bounce message). in my case differs from "from" and "reply to" and thats the reason it refuses it hope this helps dragos Nicholas Webb wrote:
