Hello Could someone suggest me an editor that can copy and paste columns in addition to lines. If Xemacs is one of editors please tell me how.
Yes, as is Gnu-emacs (you mark the beginning row, column using Ctrl-Space move the cursor to the end row, column (or vice versa), then cut the area out using Ctrl-x r k (kill-rectangle) -- and then paste using Ctrl-x r y (yank-rectangle)) very useful. Hope this helps. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Which reminds me... Does anyone know of a _real_ vi for Linux? Or a clone that acts closer to the original than vim does? I've tended to work with big files (> 100Mb), and the blessing of an editor that doesn't take it all into RAM would be unmeasurable. Thanks, Bjørn, 12 years of using vi... bjornts@mi.uib.no -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
