Min CPU freq for Mobile Athlon 2400+?
Hi, it looks like that when my ACER Aspire 1353LMlaptop boots the system detects a ~800MHz processor, later when powernow-k7 runs it offers from 1.2 to 1.8GHz as available frequencies. Why isn't 800 MHz available anymore? I boot with acpi=off otherwise the machine freezes, but apm seems to run fine. Thank you in advance, Laurent /var/log/boot.msg: <4>Detected 796.217 MHz processor. <4>Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda2 vga=0x317 acpi=off desktop resume=/dev/hda3 splash=verbose PROFILE=default <4>Calibrating delay loop... 1564.67 BogoMIPS /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq: cpuinfo_max_freq : 1795500 cpuinfo_min_freq : 1263500 scaling_available_frequencies : 1263500 1330000 1396500 1463000 1529500 1596000 1795500 scaling_available_governors : userspace performance scaling_driver : powernow-k7 scaling_governor : userspace scaling_max_freq : 1795500 scaling_min_freq : 1263500 scaling_setspeed : 1263500 /proc/cpuinfo: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 6 model : 10 model name : Mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ stepping : 0 cpu MHz : 1260.676 cache size : 512 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse syscall mp mmxext 3dnowext 3dnow bogomips : 2477.39 powersave -f: cpu MHz : 1791.488 bogomips : 3520.51

Why isn't 800 MHz available anymore? I couldn't tell, but I notice you're not getting 2ghz either? 2400+ should be 2ghz at full force, or are the mobile chips labelled differently?

From AMD site, XP-M 2400 runs at 1.8 GHz, XP-M 2500 at 1.87 GHz. I don't know for other models.
