[SLE] SAMBA profiles, how to get them off the server?
Hello! Our lab is working under Win98 as workstations, and SuSE6.2 as server. Samba is configured as SMB domain. In multiuser Win98 mode Windoze everytime stores (and loads) profile to network netlogon directory. How to omit this feature? I want NO profiles on network, but I found no tips in the documentation. But still, domain must exist (to allow logon with domain names, etc.) Thanks, George. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Typically it's only the first that controls the profiles but I've usually seen the later present when the first is as well. Also, Take a look at the Samba manual sold by O'Reilly, Chapter 6 contains everything needed for setting up typical operations, including profiles on a samba server. It's also available freely as a PDF file, but I recommend the purchase as it's well worth the money. sa> Thanks, sa> George. sa> sa> sa> sa> -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - www.primenet.com/~tomas SuSE Linux v6.3+ - Kernel 2.2.14 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hello, S! But still, I need the logon script to be executed (bat file). Any suggestions? Thanks, George. On Tue, 27 Jun 2000, S.Toms wrote:

If you have either of them, remove the following:
logon path = \\%N\profile\%U logon home = \\%N\profile\%U
after the equals sign may vary, but those are the two lines that control if profiles are considered roaming. Typically it's only the first that controls the profiles but I've usually seen the later present when the first is as well.
