[opensuse] GNOME on 11.0
Hi, I'm trying setting up my desktop on a 11.0 machine now. But I notices some changes (or default config changes?) in GNOME desktop. - If any applications are open on my desktop, it doesn't let me logout or shutdown. - adding applications to GNOME panel won't be saved when I logout or restart the PC Where can I change these behaviors? I think the one on 10.3 that I'm used to was v2.20. Then this GNOME is 2.22. I don't think I did anything special w/ my old machine w/ 10.3 related to these. go to the sessions applet on the control center, and enable
'Automatically remember running app....' in the Session Options tab

If I do that I don't seem to be able to even log out. After I clicked "Remember Current Running Applications" button, it remember the apps after rebooting it though. Even in those cases, I couldn't keep application icon on the panel. This part seems to be consistent. Problem with logout may be caused by something else. It doesn't seem to be consistent. I guess I should post it separately. But I don't think "Automatically remember running app..." should solve my problem either. Because icons I added to the panel are not running applications. Or are they? To me it should stay there even without it. Toshi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

you mean applets and launchers you added to the panel? Yeah, those
should be saved to the panel configuration as you add them, so yeah,
they should show up on next login.
What applets/launchers did you add that are not in the panel after
logging in back?

What applets/launchers did you add that are not in the panel after logging in back? I don't exactly know what is applet and what is launcher. But what I did was just dragging an application like FireFox from the main launcher(?)

that's a launcher, and should be saved to the panel configuration, so if
you don't see it after logging back in, please file a bug
