Year number version could be nice and informative; for instance, some new chap buying it on a shop would know if he was getting the latest or not.
Year number and probably expiration date to assure buyer that merchandise is fresh :-) -- Regards, Rajko M. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yeah. You don't want to experience bit rot! Oh, no!! I've heard it can cross-breed with avian flu and go on a wild rampage that will make Year 2000 look like a picnic!!! Thank god all my computers are Macs...

Right :-D Seriously, the expiration date will be the time when official security updates will be stopped. That opens space for recommendation to buy SLED if you need more than that. Than in same script explain that software will function after that as it did before, only security updates will be not provided via openSUSE, but has to be obtained from each software source, etc... And, competition offer should not be forgotten with list of their systems with expiration date and URL where that can be checked. :-) -- Regards, Rajko M. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There is a reason why MS stopped with 95, 98, 2000. Dates imply the wrong thing with software. I would like a quota wherein the percentage of lines of code from each year are presented. Not just the date of the very newest line. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems AB Ramböll Sverige AB Kapellgränd 7 P.O.
