Hi, all-- Using SuSE 9.3: There are a bunch of bad adresses in KMail, which are almost surely my own fault, but where are these stored, and how can I correct or eliminate them? On a similar question, there are a whole lot of Google inquiries that I would just as soon not have recorded on the machine. Is there a way to edit them out? --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers ... for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. Not sure this will work in 9.3, but worth a try. Try opening a compose window, right click in the To: field, and select Edit recent addresses. HTH, -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. HTH, -- Jim Barnes I can't find a compose window. Is it supposed to be in KMail, or somewhere else, and if so, where? This has to be a file, somewhere, and unless it's encripted, it should be possible to bring it up to date, or even just erase it, and start over. --doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Assuming you have Kmail in focus, Compose window: As in "I want to create an email". File > New > New message Now you're in a compose window. right click in the To: field, and select Edit recent addresses. HTH, -- jim barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. In either my directory, or as root, the answer is "No such file or directory" I'm running 9.3--don't know as that's the problem. --doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Is what Jan meant, the rest of it indicated where in the file to look. That file has been in that place for kmail users since at least suse 6.4 :). Okay, sorry, as Will stated correctly, the file to look at is ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc In KDE, configuration files are again structured. E.g., they have groups that contain the actual settings. Groups are indicated by those square brackets. Hence, you have to search for [General] and then find the line below that starts with Recent Addresses: ... [General] ... Recent Addresses=opensuse@opensuse.org,,dougs_gf@example.com,... ...
I'm running 9.3--don't know as that's the problem.
Again, as Will said, ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc should be there even on 9.3. IMHO at least since KDE 3.
