Once you've got the image stored somewhere just right click on your desktop>Desktop Settings>Wallpaper>Browse>locate your image and click OK.

2. Assign Different Wallpaper for each Desktop under KDE4 of OpenSuse 11.0

From memory, in KDE 4.1 and below you cannot assign different wallpaper per desktop but this is coming in 4.2.
