Re: [SLE] Evolution 1.02 and S/MIME compliance was (Sorry off list but ...)
Joe and I were having a off list discussion about evolution and his messages, here's the latest snipped version ... On Sun, 2002-11-17 at 20:05, Joe Morris (NTM) wrote:
Since I had turned off the digital signing by default, I will digitally sign this message to check if the newest evolution is now S/MIME compliant. I hope so. If so, I will probably turn it back on as default. Thanks for letting me know. If it is now S/MIME compliant, it might be good to let the list know, as I know several were disappointed it was not before.
when i clicked on the lock this is what I got...
This message is digitally signed but can not be proven to be authentic.
gpg: /home/framau/.gnupg: directory created
gpg: new configuration file `/home/framau/.gnupg/gpg.conf' created
gpg: keyblock resource `/home/framau/.gnupg/pubring.gpg': file open
error
I don't remember installing gnupg... or have never configured it.
What is pubring.gpg ? is that where I would store your publc key?
I've never used pgp or s/mime but have a fair understanding of pgp, so
the above was a guess.
But it does appear to be working, does anyone have gnupg set up and can
test this?
I'll read up on configuring it, or if someone wants to give me a hint it
would be greatly appreciated.
I'm just happy I can read joe's posts in evolution.
Thanks
