[opensuse] Novell Client for openSUSE 11.1
The Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP2 seems to be working with openSUSE 11.1. Check out the link below for details. http://www.novell.com/products/clients/linux/overview.html I even get an icon in the KDE system tray (kde 4.2.2). I have only tried the 32-bit version. I used the download called: Novell Client 2.0 SP2 for SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 And followed the instructions. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. NCL is always known to work on the .1 releases, which happen (co-incidently?) to be the base for the SLE and as such are mostly binary compatible. Check your $HOME after a reboot... Do you see the stale dead links? :) in SLE11 that was fixed already. but just to get your feelings straight: should you ever try to upgrade to gnome 2.26, it is already not working anymore. And left aline the status it has in openSUSE Factory (the novfs module does not compile, and we have gnome 2.26 for example). So all in all: yes, it's a nice thing it works on openSUSE 11.1 (even tried clienttrust, works as well on 32bit, but not on 64, whereas NCL itself works on 64bit). Still in deep hope and believe that one daym I will be able to connect flawlessly to our Novell Netware infrastructure using openSUSE (sponsored by Novell). But most likely, we will have migrated the entire farm to OES2 before this is ever going to happen.
